- Obituary:
Mildred Elaine Wells, 89, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. She was born June 10, 1925 in Urania to the union of her parents, Lewis and Dezzie Smith Tarver. Mrs. Wells was a homemaker and was one of the founders and lifelong members of Olla United Pentecostal Church. She had no children of her own, but loved her nieces and nephews as her own and she loved to mother everyone, including her church family. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 25, at Olla United Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Darrell Floyd and Jonathan Crist officiating. Interment will follow in the Beech Creek Cemetery in Winn Parish under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wells; parents; and sister, Madeline T. Watson. Obituary appeared in The Jena Times Olla-Tullos-Urania Signal; February 25, 2015.

MILDRED ELAINE WELLS Funeral services for Mildred Elaine Wells will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Olla United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Darrell Floyd and Rev. Jonathan Crist officiating. Interment will follow in the Beech Creek Cemetery in Winn Parish under the directions of Hixson Brothers, Jena. The family request that visitation be Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 4 to 9pm at the church. Those left to cherish her memory are her nieces, Nancy Watson Stone of Fair Hope, AL and Cindy Watson of Columbia, LA; nephew, Trey Watson and wife Shannon and their children Wyatt and Connor of Anchorage, AK; great nieces, Nykki Watts and husband Stan and their son, Ryker, Ashley Strickland and husband Chad and their daughter Anna Beth; great nephews, Chet Mauldin, Cody Varnell and wife Sara and their son Maverick and brother-in-law, Orvis H. Watson of Columbia, LA; special people, Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Douglas and family, Mr. & Mrs. Lydell Keen, Mr. David Banes and a host of other friends and relatives She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wells, parents, Lewis and Dezzie Smith Tarver and sister, Madeline T. Watson. Pallbearers will be David Banes, Chad Strickland, Cody Varnell, Trey Watson, Chet Mauldin and Stan Watts.
